Notes en route from John o' Groats to Lands End

 This is a test post on 26 July 2023 - to see if this newly created blog actually works - I am also wondering if I can add pictures?  Let's see .... /  PREPARATION  T his was my bike last weekend - and it's now only slightly improved as part of a renovation project - still more to do. The old chainwheel been round a few million times and needed replacing!  Can't get the new chain-wheel to fit!!!!!!  (more advice from Neal's wheels needed .... ) Although on the positive side I have managed to take nearly all bearings apart of re-assemble. Below are my pedal bearings - not too bad condition after 40+years of use. (Hope the knee joints are also in good condition- started taking cod liver oil tablets with this in mind!) A few more bearing pictures - getting carried away - as seems easy to add photos! New freewheel now fitted (French make) - recommended at Neal's Wheels bike shop!
